YMCA Receives Three Distinguished Awards
The YMCA of the USA
in Chicago recently awarded the Montgomery County Family YMCA with three
distinguished awards in which the YMCA is in complete accordance with a set of
practices consistent with the YMCA mission and with high-quality membership and
programs.
The YMCA received Mission-Driven Quality Promise certificates for Character
Development which means we welcome and include people of different backgrounds,
races, religions, income, ages and abilities; Y Community Development, we
emphasize health and safety complying with all applicable laws and YMCA
policies; and Financial Development, meaning we offer and promote financial
assistance for those who cannot afford the full fees. In recognition of
this promise, YCMA of the USA hereby offers these certificates and encourages
the YMCA staff and volunteers to continue to live by this promise so that they
can be ever more effective in building strong kids, strong families and strong
communities.
